Vehicle Aftercare and Maintenance Guide

Once your vehicle has received paint protection film, ceramic coating, vinyl wrap, or window tint, proper maintenance is essential to keep it looking pristine and performing at its best.

General Cleaning and Care Guidelines

  • Avoid automatic car washes: Their abrasive equipment and harsh cleaning methods can damage your protective coating, wrap, or tint, potentially voiding your warranty.
  • Hand Wash Recommended: Always hand wash your vehicle when possible.
  • Use Proper Aftercare Products: Utilizing the right products ensures your vehicle’s protective coating stays effective, maintains its appearance, and keeps your warranty valid. Ceramic Coating Maintenance

Washing:

  • Wash your ceramic-coated vehicle weekly or bi-weekly to minimize contaminant buildup.
  • Use a gentle, car-specific soap recommended by Detail Ease.
  • Wash out of direct sunlight to avoid water spots and streaking.
  • Start washing from the roof downward, leaving the dirtiest areas for last.
  • Avoid high-volume brush-style car washes and harsh chemical cleaners.

Drying:

  • Ceramic coating significantly reduces water retention; however, dry any remaining water using a clean, soft, lint-free towel or an air blower.

Waxing:

  • Use Detail Ease’s silica-based spray waxes, compatible with your ceramic coating.
  • Avoid traditional waxes or rubbing compounds.
  • Apply Detail Ease Detail Ease “Graphene 12 month” for extra protection, enhanced gloss, and ease of cleaning.

Paint Protection Film (Gloss Finish)

  • Initial Care: Wait at least 48 hours after installation before washing your car.
  • Stain Removal: Immediately remove bugs, bird droppings, or other stains.
  • Tough Stains: Use 99% isopropyl alcohol carefully to remove stubborn stains, ensuring it doesn’t contact uncovered paint areas. Detail Ease has a product for this.
  • Maintenance Sealant: Apply Detail Ease “Graphene 12 month” to maintain the film’s high-gloss finish.
  • Scratch Repair: Minor scratches on the film self-heal naturally within 20-30 minutes at room temperature. In colder conditions or for quicker results, gently pour warm water on the affected area.
  • Pressure Washing Caution: Do not use high-pressure washers directly on film edges to prevent lifting or damage.
  • Contaminant Removal: Detailing clay is safe to remove contaminants from the film.
  • Waxing: Only use spray waxes recommended by Detail Ease. Avoid compound waxes, as they can accumulate along film edges.

Paint Protection Film (Matte Finish)

  • Initial Care: Allow at least 48 hours after application before washing.
  • Stain Removal: Quickly remove contaminants.
  • Stubborn Stains: Use 99% isopropyl alcohol sparingly and avoid paint exposure.
  • Self-Healing Feature: Small scratches self-heal naturally within 20-30 minutes at room temperature or faster with warm water.
  • Pressure Washing: Avoid high-pressure water near film edges to prevent lifting.
  • Waxing: Only use matte-friendly spray waxes recommended by Detail Ease. Compound waxes are not recommended.

Vinyl Wrap Maintenance

Washing:

  • Promptly clean your vehicle when visibly dirty. Allowing contaminants to remain can lead to difficulty in removal.
  • Rinse the vehicle thoroughly to remove surface dirt.
  • Soak tougher contaminants like bugs, bird droppings, or tree sap in warm, soapy water before gentle removal.
  • Always use a mild, non-abrasive, car-specific soap recommended by Detail Ease.

Drying:

  • After rinsing, carefully remove excess water using a silicone squeegee.
  • Finish drying with a clean microfiber towel.
  • Do not scrub aggressively or use abrasive cleaning tools.

Following these guidelines ensures your vehicle remains beautifully protected, maximizes the lifespan of your Detail Ease protective products, and preserves your warranty.
